Do we call it horse jogging?

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so I won't write today as much as show. Today, K and I headed out with Little Love and our dogs to enjoy a beautiful fall day and shoot some video of this new sport we are working on.

The video was shot with my phone, so sorry about the lack of zoom and the lower quality. In the second video, keep watching to the end–you'll get to see a little canter as well. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Lovely! Great video, Melissa... and beautiful to watch K and Little Love play together! Little Love is so in her body, completely aware of K and her surroundings. Gorgeous.

  2. Very cool! I like the way K and LL's strides match so well - and in canter K seems to go into a bouncy stride. Y'all are going to be very fit. What are you going to do in the snow? Maybe LL can pull you along on skis!

I'm glad to see it's still green up there in the frozen north, but I see K is wearing a jacket. Is it cold already?

  4. Haha, I don't think we will be doing this in the snow. Unless, of course, I AM on skis! I always try to match her stride, also in the canter (so I am cantering). When you hold on to the mane, this is really the only way to go if you want to "use" her momentum. My legs get sore sometimes, this is a workout!
PS. And the speaking you hear on the videos is Melissa in Finnish telling the dogs to wait :-)
